Is
there a need for this type of research institute?
There is an ongoing critical need for the scientific community to
communicate in clear, concise language the new discoveries in early
learning and brain development. Scientific studies are revolutionizing our
ideas about infants, young children, and the nature of the developing
brain and mind. Parents and educators alike are demanding more information
on best parenting and educational practices.

What
does the name Talaris mean?
The name, pronounced “te-lair-us,” was derived from the Latin noun,
talaria, which describe the winged sandals worn by Mercury, messenger to
the gods, also known as Hermes. Meaning to think swiftly, to fly swiftly,
or to have quick thoughts, it also represents Talaris’ efforts to spread
knowledge of early learning quickly.

How
does Talaris communicate scientific findings to the public?
Our goal is to transform research findings into helpful tools for
various audiences. We partner with a variety of practitioners on an
ongoing basis to ensure that our research finds are grounded in real-life
experience. In addition, we participate in networks including
organizations that touch our key audiences as a method to communicate our
findings. We rely on broadcast (radio and TV), print and our web site,
networking meetings, and conferences to establish connections with
parents, caregivers, educators, healthcare professionals, and the business
community. Talaris also offers useful information packaged as videos, CDs,
books, and brochures.
